FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to instrumental diagnostics and aims at the prediction of a cartilage injury on the articulate surface of patella in the patients suffering a femoro-patellar pathology of knee joint. It involves the ultrasound investigation of the anterior knee joint and the calculation of a relation angle of a plane of the superior pole of patella and a plane of the anterior non- articulating surface of patella. If said angle exceeds 120 degrees, cartilage injures on the articulate surface of patella are predicted.
EFFECT: method is simple, non-invasive, does not imply a radiation exposure, allows avoiding a deviated joint relation resulted from the incorrect positioning of the patient, cuts examination time.
