FIELD: weapons and ammunition.
SUBSTANCE: armor piercing bullet core consists of head and tail parts. Said core represents a ball. Head part features the shape of 3D body developing in rotation of rectilinear or flat curvilinear sections relative to core axis. First section forms rear volume of head part representing a truncated cone, wile second section forms cone-shape front volume of head part. Core tail part features the shape of interconnected cylinder or truncated cone. Method of core fabrication consists in preparing the mix, forming the billet and sintering it. Billet forming if performed by pressing or extrusion at vibration. Vacuum-compression sintering is used to this end. After sintering, diamond machining is performed to provide for required roughness of core head part surface.
EFFECT: higher armor piercing capacity.
