FIELD: fire safety.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method consists in determining quantitative and qualitative composition of gaseous products resulted from thermal decomposition of corruptible materials and introducing fire extinguishing gas composition in smoldering fire in amount that allows creating oxygen concentration in structure premises equal to minimum flammable oxygen amount (Cox.min) for the most flammable gaseous product of thermal decomposition (with lower Cox.min). Note here that time of feeding fire extinguishing gas composition is determined allowing for time of feeding said composition in premises with originated smoldering fire to reach oxygen composition equal to Cox.min and ultimate for smoldering oxidising medium flow rate at maximum initial oxygen concentratiob in structure premises.
EFFECT: lower consumption of fire extinguishing gas composition.
