FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method of boron-calorising of steel in container with saturating mix by its heating and subsequent cooling. Heating and cooling of container with the product and saturating mix are performed in cycles with cooling at 640-650°C. During first cycle, holding is carried out at heating temperature for 53-30 minutes that exceeds by 20-23 minutes the duration of holding at heating temperature during subsequent cycles, or holding is performed at heating temperature for 13-16 minutes with the following cycles to be carried out with holding at heating temperature.
EFFECT: high heat resistance and micro hardness of boron-calorised layer.
