FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy, in particular to chemical and thermal treatment, and can be used in mechanical engineering for surface hardening of parts made of carbon steels. The method for combined boro-aluminizing of carbon steel includes solid-phase boro-aluminizing of steel in a container with a fusible gate at a temperature of 950°C for 4 hours with a saturating mixture containing, wt. %: (70% Al2O3 + 10% B2O3 + 20% Al)- 98% + NaF 2%. Then the surface is additionally heated by an electron beam in a vacuum of 2×10-3 Pa for 15-25 s, with a beam current of 58-60 mA and a specific power of 25-30 W/cm2.
EFFECT: increase in depth and uniformity is provided, as well as an improvement in the properties of the boro-molded layers on carbon steel.
