FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: open electric arc distributive sensor has a fibre-optic guide with transparent cladding, two photoelectronic transducers, two electrical signal logarithmation units, a unit for subtracting two electrical signals, a unit for summing two electrical signals and additionally a fibre-optic guide with opaque cladding, which is connected to the fibre-optic guide with transparent cladding through an optical amplifier. One end of the fibre-optic guide with transparent cladding is connected to the optical input of the first photoelectronic transducer and the other end is connected to the optical input of the optical amplifier. One end of the fibre-optic guide with opaque cladding is connected to the optical output of the optical amplifier and the other end is connected to the optical input of the second photoelectronic transducer. The gain of the optical amplifier G is equal to where α1, α2 is the coefficient of extinction of optical power in fibre-optic guides with transparent and opaque cladding respectively; L1, L2 is the length of the fibre-optic guide with transparent and opaque cladding respectively.
EFFECT: increased number of switchgear cells monitored using one sensor.
