FIELD: electrical engineering.

SUBSTANCE: fibre-optic component of a sensor consists of a segment of an active polymer optical fibre and a cable with two optical fibres for connecting the active segment to a photodetector and a test signal emitter of the registration unit. The segment of an active polymer optical fibre at the vertex thereof has a reflective shell-free section interwoven in the form of a knot and closed at the top with a cap made of a polymer material with volumetric diffuse scattering.

EFFECT: ensured high reliability, broad viewing angle, and control of the integrity of polymer optical fibre (POF).
