FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: invention is related to electric engineering and intended for short-circuit arcing protection in electric equipment, in particular, in switchgear and control gear (SWCG) of 0.4-40 kV. Technical result is attained by the fact that the fibre-optical arc blowout device with identification of electric arc location comprises fibre guides, and each of them is connected by its one end through the emitting source to the respective output of the microcontroller and by its other end through a photoelectronic transducer to the respective input of the microcontroller; all fibre guides pass through the same light-isolating sections; each fibre guide is divided along the whole its length into alternating sections passing or non-passing lights through its lateral surface so that in one section each fibre guide has only a passing or a non-passing section, and passing or non-passing sections of different fibre guides in the same section form a binary code corresponding to the section number, at that quantity of fibre guides N for sections Q control is selected on the following condition: N≥log2(Q+1).
EFFECT: simplifying structure of arc blowout device due to reducing number of fibre guides controlling the light-isolating sections of SWCG.
