ULTRASONIC DIAGNOSTIC TECHNIQUE FOR LITHOGENICITY OF CYSTIC BILE Russian patent published in 2010 - IPC A61B8/08

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to ultrasonic diagnostics and aims at ultrasonic diagnosis of lithogenicity of cystic bile. The quantitative ultrasonic variables of gallbladder contents status are evaluated by ultrasonic amplitude histograming of the gallbladder contents in the fundus, body and neck both before the administration of a cholagogic stimulator, and 40 min thereafter. A cystic bile echo-density index is calculated by formula D=H_stim./H_ref, where H_ref. is an arithmetical mean ultrasonic amplitude histogram of the gallbladder contents before the administration of a cholagogic stimulator, H_stim. is an arithmetical mean ultrasonic amplitude histogram of the gallbladder contents after the administration of a cholagogic stimulator. If deriving the cystic bile echo-density index less than 1.3, a normal status of cystic bile is observed. The cystic bile echo-density index 1.3 and more indicated a lithogenic status of cystic bile.

EFFECT: technique allows for higher diagnostic accuracy and information value of lithogenicity of cystic bile due to evaluation of the quantitative ultrasonic variables of the gallbladder contents status by ultrasonic amplitude histograming that allows eliminating an erroneous interpretation of the qualitative ultrasonic variables of the gallbladder status.
