FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to pharmacy and chemical-pharmaceutical industry and specifically to a method of producing biologically active substances from medicinal plant material and obtaining rosmarinic acid from lilac sage weed. The raw material used is lilac sage weed (Salvia verticillata L.). The method of producing rosmarinic acid through pre-extraction of material with 70% ethanol involves mixing obtained extracts, evaporation to a syrupy residue, drying the thick extract on silica gel, deposition onto a column with silica gel, elution, mixture and evaporation to dry residue, purification of technical rosmarinic acid on a column filled with sephadex LH-20 in water, where the raw material used is lilac sage weed (Salvia verticillaia L) which is pre-extracted twice with 70% ethanol on a water bath at 60°C with ratio of raw material to extraction agent equal to 1:10 for 1.5 hours while filtering each time, alcohol extractions are combined, evaporated under vacuum on a water bath to a water residue, left for 12-15 hours until extraction of chlorophyll, the chlorophyll precipitate is filtered, the water residue is treated with equal volumes of ethylacetate 6-8 times, the ethylacetate fraction is evaporated to a resin-like precipitate which is dissolved in lilac alcohol while heating, cooled fast and poured into excess diethyl ether while stirring, the precipitate is filtered, the ether-ethanol fraction is evaporated under vacuum in order to remove ether to form a syrupy residue which is dried on silica gel, the dry powder is taken to a chromatographic column on a silica gel layer, eluted, the obtained fractions are combined, evaporated to dry residue under vacuum, dry powder of rosmarinic acid is obtained, which is then purified on a column. Output of the desired product is 4% in terms of the amount of medicinal material and 80% in terms of total phenolic acids.
EFFECT: high output of desired product, as well as wide raw material base for producing rosmarinic acid.
