FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: method involves supply of metal charge to furnace, melting, addition of rusty dolomite to molten charge, oxidation period, steel tapping so that some part of metal and slag is left in furnace. Addition of rusty dolomite to molten metal charge is performed in portions of 300…500 kg in quantity of 5…15 kg/t per 80…90% of the main oxidation period till magnesium oxide in slag is within 8…10%.
EFFECT: increasing resistance of lining of arc-type steel-making furnaces, improving slag mode of steel making and increasing the metal yield.
