FIELD: transport.

SUBSTANCE: contact element made of composite metal-ceramic material consists of setting part in the form of blunted cone and contact part in the form of sphere. Setting part height is 3.0-4.0 mm. Contact pert radius is 40-50 mm. Contact element contains base of wt %: 4-20 cobalt and/or nickel, 20-60 copper, the rest is tungsten carbide. The base additionally has additives of graphite and/or molybdenum disulfide and phosphorus in the form of phosphatic compounds. Additives are uniformly distributed in the base volume in amount of 0.3-3.0 wt % of each additive. Tungsten carbide grain size is within 0.5-5.0 micron. Specific electric resistance of the base does not exceed 18·10-8 Ohm·m. Brinell hardness is 265-550 MPa. Flexural strength at break is 900-1700 MPa. Volume porosity does not exceed 0.25%.
