FIELD: powder metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of powder metallurgy, can predominantly be used to produce electrotechnical materials for interrupting contacts. The method for manufacturing an electrotechnical composite material includes mixing, plasticising, pressing and vacuum liquid-phase sintering. A fine-grained WC+Co hard alloy powder and a copper powder pre-sieved through a sieve are mixed using grinding media at the following ratio of components, wt.%: copper 30 to 50, WC+Co hard alloy the rest, wherein the WC+Co hard alloy comprises Co 2.9 to 8.2 wt.% and WC the rest. A plasticising solution is introduced into the resulting mixture, then a compact is produced from the plasticised mixture. Vacuum liquid-phase sintering of the compact is performed. Isothermal exposure is conducted in the process of heating during the vacuum liquid-phase sintering at a temperature between the temperature of magnetic transformation of cobalt and the melting point of copper. Vacuum liquid-phase sintering of the composite material is performed at a temperature equal to 1.05 to 1.1 of the liquidus temperature of the Cu-Co system accounting for the ratio of components.
EFFECT: improvement in the characteristics and structure of a carbide electrotechnical material for interrupting electrical contacts, as well as reduction in the power consumption of production of a composite material are provided.
