FIELD: information technologies.
SUBSTANCE: codec of digital audiovisual data adaptively rearranges procedure of conversion coefficients scanning in compliance with local statistics of digital audiovisual data, so that coefficients could be coded more efficiently using entropic coding. Adaptive ordering of scanning is applied in cause-effect manner in process of coding and decoding to avoid explicit signalling of scanning order to decoder in digital flow of compressed audiovisual data. Adaptive procedure of scanning rearranges scanning procedure, applying operation of conditional exchange to ordered coefficient positions nearby, by means of single actuation of scanning procedure at each update of statistic analysis data.
EFFECT: provision of adaptive ordering of coefficients scanning for efficient and fast matching of block coefficients scanning order with local image statistics.
