FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to inorganic chemistry, and specifically to a method of producing solid dicarbon fluorides, particularly to a method of producing dicarbon poly-monofluoride which is used as an active component of cathodes of chemical current sources and as a lubricant working at low and high temperatures and in vacuum conditions. Graphite is first treated with liquid chlorine trifluoride. The obtained solid product undergoes thermal decomposition to obtain carbonaceous material which is fluorinated with gaseous chlorine trifluoride at room temperature. Composition of the obtained desired product corresponds to formulae C1.95F-C2.1F.
EFFECT: invention simplifies the process owing to reduction of the fluorination temperature of the carbonaceous material, prevents contamination of metals with flourides and increases environmental safety by using less toxic substances.
