FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: in a device having light sources, an optical system comprising a light detector on three primary colour channels is made in form of a fibre-optic cable which diverges into three channels in the extension from the but-end. A unit for reading colour of an object is in form of a system of three primary colour filters, a diaphragm and light sensors lying behind. The method of calibrating using reference colours is characterised by use of the principle of electronic recording of references and measurement of primary colours relative reference colours, wherein standard specimens of red R, green G and blue B colour are successively placed on the light measuring window as the reference, and the colour of each of the primary colours is output on a table on a monitor combined with other primary colours, alien colours of neighbouring channels are subtracted and the proportion of subtraction is recorded for further measurement and stored.
EFFECT: higher measurement accuracy.
