FIELD: colorimetry. SUBSTANCE: method of measurement is based upon the following operations: forming image of object of measurement, measurement of quantities of three basic colors of image by transmitting light through light filters of measurement systems followed by subsequent measurement of number of separated colors at corresponding measuring aids. Before measurement of number of three basic colors, measurement system is balanced due to equalizing factors of measurement of light quantity at aids for measurement of light quantity correspondingly to basic colors. Device for realizing the method has optical system for forming image of object and unit for reading color of object out. Optical system for forming image of object is made in form of objective 8 and frosted glass 9 disposed behind objective 8 at focal point of image of object. Unit for reading color of object out is made in form of set of three basic color light filters 12 and aids 11 for transforming separated light into electric signals.
