SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a inertisation system and inertisation method for reducing oxygen content, in the method specific and, compared to common environment air, reduced oxygen content is controlled and supported in atmosphere of closed chamber (2). For this purpose the inertisation system (1) has system (3) of compressors for compression of initial gas mixture and gas-distributing system (10) connected to system (3) of compressors. At least part of oxygen contained in the compressed initial mixture is separated in gas-distributing system (10).

EFFECT: gas-distributing system (10) is made with possibility of operation in VPSA and PSA mode, if necessary.
