SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to oxygen reduction system (100) comprising at least one gas separation system (102), as well as one compressed gas storage (105; 105a-105f). Compressed gas storage (105; 105a-f) is hydraulically connected or made with possibility of connection to at least one closed area (107; 107a, 107b) by means of the pipeline system so that the mixture of gases or inert gas stored in the compressed gas storage (105; 105a-f), if necessary, supplied to closed area (107; 107a, 107b). Output of gas separation system (102) is hydraulically connected or selectively connected selectively to compressed gas storage (105; 105a-f) or at least one closed area (107; 107a, 107b) in order to supply, if necessary, a mixture of gases provided at the outlet of gas separation system (102) either into compressed gas storage (105; 105a-f) or into at least one closed area (107; 107a, 107b).
EFFECT: disclosed is a system for reducing oxygen and a method of operating an oxygen reduction system.
