FIELD: weapons and ammunition.
SUBSTANCE: ammunition comprises cartridge case, formed from polymer material, which has Izod impact strength with cut at room temperature of approximately 23°C, measured according to ASTM D256-00, more than approximately 10 pound-force-foot/inch, and which has ratio of Izod impact strength with cut at room temperature to Izod impact strength with cut at approximately -40°C less than approximately 4. Shell may be formed from polyphenyl sulfone or siloxane-modified bisphenol-A-polycarbonate, or bisphenol-A-polycarbonate with biphenyl ties, or mixture of bisphenol-A-polycarbonate and acrylic elastomer. Method for manufacturing of cartridge case includes comparison of Izod impact strength of polymer material with cut measured at room temperature according to ASTM D256-00, with its Izod impact strength with cut measured at approximately -40°C according to ASTM D256-00, and use of selected polymer materials, which have ratio of Izod impact strength with cut at room temperature to Izod impact strength with cut at -40°C less than approximately 4 for manufacturing of specified cartridge case or specified component of cartridge case.
EFFECT: improvement of viscoelastic properties of polymer material of cartridge case by mixing of this material with high-module polymer.
