SUBSTANCE: method of connecting ports to a power network in a computer system involves steps on which: frequency of the highest noise on high-speed data lines during connection to a power network is determined; the delay time between the first and second port which minimises the highest noise is determined; and the second port is connected after the delay time for connecting the first port. The invention also discloses other embodiments.
