SUBSTANCE: invention discloses a system and a method of organising and sorting target objects received in response to a request for indicators and for realising a policy for switching back during non-optimality of a target object and a target object priority in a distributed file system. In one version of the method, sorting includes receiving a response to a request for indicators in form of a list of target objects which are sorted into finite sets. Availability of a response to a request for indicators sorted into finite sets provides a basis for realising the switching back policy during non-optimality of the target object and the target object priority. The computer system may select a certain target object from the sorted list of target objects sorted in accordance with losses associated with a network node and/or target object priority. Further, the computer system may determine whether the established target object is associated with a preferred target object during comparison with all available target objects in the sorted list, and if not, switches back to the preferred target object.
