SUBSTANCE: method and device for generating a single-carrier frequency division multiplex (SC-FDM) signal involve formation of a spectrum on modulation symbols to obtain spectrally formed symbols based on one or more criteria, e.g. by setting one parametre of a filter which forms the spectrum based on at least one characteristic of the SC-FDM signal, whereby spectrum formation can be based on the number of subcarriers used for SC-FDM signal. Spectrum formation may be carried out in the frequency domain or within an allocated frequency range or with expansion of the frequency range.
EFFECT: low peak to mean power ratio in wireless communication.
