FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: pathogen-induced synthetic promoter contains a minimal promoter which precedes it by at least one cis-regulating element. The minimal promoter contains one sequence motif a) dbrmwa or b) twcccmt, which lies after the TATA region and before the transcription onset site in the minimal promoter.
EFFECT: introduction of nucleic acid into a plant cell, suitable for protection from pathogens, which, under control of a synthetic promoter with subsequent regeneration of an entire plant from the said cell, provides resistance of the plant to the pathogens.
