FIELD: biotechnology.
SUBSTANCE: recombinant construct for reduction of expression of a sequence-target comprising the said isolated nucleic acid fragment is disclosed, as well as maize cell for reduction of expression of a sequence-target comprising the said recombinant construct. The method of selecting cells having a reduced level of expression is described, comprising transformation of maize cell of the said recombinant construct and selection of cell(s) which level of expression of the sequence-target is reduced compared to the level of expression of the target gene in the maize cells of wild type.
EFFECT: invention enables to reduce the expression of a sequence-target in a plant.
