FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to disinfection and aimed at producing a solid chemical tablet (11) for disinfecting swimming pools. The tablet has an elongated cylindrical lateral surface (40, 130) and an oblong flat lateral surface (30) or an elongated concave cut out lateral surface (140). The solid chemical tablet (11) contains a mixture of hydrated calcium hypochlorite with heptahydrate of magnesium sulphate or a mixture of solid calcium hypochlorite and one or more solid phosphates of alkali metals.
EFFECT: invention enables uniform dispersion of chemical disinfecting substances in the water and makes easier distinction of this tablet from others due to its shape.
