FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metal forming and can be used in production of steel piston compression and oil wiper rings from wire. Wire is preheated to temperature 250-300° higher than Ac3, strain-hardened in the range of martensitic conversion temperatures MH - MK. For this, wire is drawn through profiling drawing rolls with squeezing. Produced profile is coiled onto mandrel and thermally fixed at 350-400°C for one hour. Coiled profile on mandrel is cut into separate rings. Rings are fitted in cylinder liner and subjected to thermal stabilisation at 560-580° C for 30 minutes.
EFFECT: possibility to produce complex-profile steel rings with high operating properties.
