FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: preliminarily wire is exposed to re-crystallisation annealing at that temperature of 10-20°C below point Ac1 for 1 hour. Then deformation strengthening of wire is performed by means of its pulling with compression of 70-75% through profile wire drawing rollers. Prepared profile is tempered at the temperature of 500°C for 1 hour. Then profile is wound onto mandrel with tension, and its thermal stabilisation tempering is carried out. Tempering is executed at the temperature of 550°C for 1 hour for dynamic ageing under load and polygonisation. Profile is cut into separate rings on mandrel.
EFFECT: high resistance and plasticity of piston rings.
