FIELD: plastic working of metal, possibly manufacture of steel oil piston rings from wire.
SUBSTANCE: method is realized due to performing five operations for deformation strengthening of wire at drawing it through shaped drawing rollers with reduction degree 35 - 40%; 20 - 25%; 10 - 15%; 15 - 20% and 6 - 8% respectively. After first and third deformation strengthening operations recrystallization tempering of wire at temperature 660 - 680°C for 1 hour is performed. After fifth deformation strengthening operation perforation grooves are punched in wire and it is wound onto mandrel. Wire is wound onto mandrel at tightness for forming profile of oil piston ring. Then profile of oil piston ring is thermally fixed on mandrel at temperature 500°C for 1 hour and it is cut on mandrel by separate rings. Said rings are placed in sleeve for thermally stabilizing at temperature 550°C for 1 hour.
EFFECT: improved operational strength and plasticity of piston rings.
