FIELD: weapons and ammunition.
SUBSTANCE: explosive shell with the cover forming fragments and the layer of explosive located inside the shell cover. Inner body is located inside the explosive and forms a face cut for the explosive layer, and explosive layer is thin with respect to the shell diameter; at that, thickness of the explosive layer is 2 to 7.5 mm.
EFFECT: reaching at the end of ballistic flight the high efficiency of shells and warheads forming fragments irrespective of impact speed when using, if possible, small amount of explosive.
