METHOD OF ACCESS DURING OPERATIONS IN CONNECTION WITH TUMOURS OF NASAL CAVITY AND CENTRAL PART OF SKULL BASE Russian patent published in 2011 - IPC A61B17/00 

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to field of medicine, namely to craniofacial surgery and neurosurgery and can be used when performing radical surgery in connection with tumours of nasal cavity and central part of skull base. Essence of method lies in the following: carried out are: coronary cut and skeletonisation of cerebral cranium bones, bifrontal craniotomy and transfacial cut, passing through forehead middle and nose root, along nose base on the right or on the left bordering with nose wing and cutting upper lip on medial line, on upper fornix of vestibule. Bones of facial skull are skeletonized from one side of transfacial cut to the level of osteotomy performance, preserving nasolacrimal canal, and osteotomy is carried out under visual control. On the other side of transfacial cut subperiosteally tunnels are formed on intended lines of osteotomy and through formed tunnels osteotomies are performed under manual control. After that formed cutaneous-osteal-cartilaginous-mucous facial flap is mobilised and turned aside.

EFFECT: invention allows to preserve blood supply of osteotomised bone fragments and prevent their necrosis in post-operational period, inflammatory complications, expressed scar deformities of tissues of medial face zone, dysfunction.
