FIELD: transport.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to machine building, namely to diagnostics of automotive braking system ABS. Proposed method consists in that, prior to testing, tester is connected to connector assembly of ABS control unit to register pressure drop origination moment in braking system drive. Car running on smooth horizontal road with speed exceeding ABS cutout threshold, e.g. 40 km/h, is decelerated by depressing brake pedal in emergency brake application conditions. Braking is repeated several times, e.g. at least five times. State of the brakes is defined from registered pressure drop origination moment in braking system drive of each car wheel.

EFFECT: pinpointing troubles in control system components and diagnosing serviceability of mechanical devices.
