FIELD: transport.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to automotive brake control systems and is intended for diagnosing automotive brakes. Proposed method comprises verifying, at every braking, the brake force augmentation time from depressing brake pedal to beginning of pressure drop in brake drive of every wheel in antiskid system operation. Measures values are stored in antiskid system control unit memory to equalise time interval to infinity for wheels which, in braking, are not locked and there is no pressure drop in their brake drives. Least brake force augmentation time is defined. Difference between brake force augmentation time and least brake force augmentation time for every wheel and ratio between said difference and brake force augmentation time for every wheel are defined while magnitude of said ratio is used to reveal brake faults.
EFFECT: automatic brakes control in operation.
