FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: apparatus for converting solar energy to electrical and heat energy is made from layers of monocrystalline quartz plates on which a fluorescent semiconductor composite is deposited. The composite is phthalocyanine of a transition metal with addition of modified carbon nanotubes and nanoparticles of the transition metal itself to absorb light quanta so as to generate radiation with small drain shift. Energy of light quanta is converted to electrical current and heat through carbon nanotubes in the bottom layer. Electrical current is tapped using electrodes on the end surface of the plates.
EFFECT: high efficiency of converting solar radiation to electrical and heat energy.
