METHOD TO DETECT EPILEPTIFORM ACTIVITY Russian patent published in 2011 - IPC A61B5/476

Abstract RU 2409315 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to the field of medicine, namely to neurology and psychiatry. Electroencephalogram (EEG) is registered on the background of hyperventilation with subsequent detection of epileptiform patterns. At the same time EEG is registered on orthostatic table in horizontal position. Then table for 5-10 sec is turned by 60°-70°, and examined person is changed into orthostatic position, in which hyperventilation is carried out for 3-5 minutes, without interruption of EEG registration. If there are no criteria of diagnostically meaningful orthostatic failure of blood circulation and there are epileptiform patterns available, epileptiform activity is diagnosed.

EFFECT: method expands arsenal of facilities to detect epileptiform activity.
