FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: lateral X-ray filming of patient's upper airways is conducted to describe an air column profile of a laryngopharynx. If observing a pathological air pocket between arytenoid cartilages and a posterior wall of a pharynx with a lower boundary not less than 3 mm below the level of apexes of arytenoid cartilages, laryngomalacia is diagnosed.
EFFECT: higher accuracy of a X-ray based laryngomalacia diagnostic technique.
