FIELD: fire safety.
SUBSTANCE: fire extinguishing system includes a fuel element to generate nitrogen-enriched cathode exhaust air, and a system of pipes to supply nitrogen- enriched exhaust air to the source of ignition. The fuel element is supplied with air and fuel. The system contains the unit of control and regulation of the parametres of air and fuel. Method of fire fighting includes production of nitrogen-enriched cathode exhaust air through the fuel element and supply of this air to the source of ignition.
EFFECT: oxygen content around the ignition source is reduced and its extinction occurs.
