FIELD: measurement equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to measurement equipment, in particular, for monitoring of condition of engineering structure elements of ferromagnetic materials under conditions of cyclic load, and may find application in machine building and transport. Method of fatigue failure prevention consists in application of coordinate grid onto surface of machine part or element of structures under cyclic load, and then magnetic resilient sensor equipped with angle-measuring device is used to do measurements in grid nodes. At the same time magnetic permeability is scanned depending on angle of sensor rotation within the limits from 0 to 360 degrees. Produced data is used to build figures of magnetic permeability distribution, areas of these figures are calculated, and chart of its variance is built. Chart contains three sections, out of which the third indicates necessity to terminate operation of monitored item.
EFFECT: improved accuracy, sensitivity and validity of diagnostics of exhaustion of item cyclic strength.
