FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in the manufacture of welded products from the plates with the thickness of ≤10 mm, which work under the conditions of high loads and pressures. Plastic deformation of the weld zone is carried out by shots into the weld zone from the front side of the welded joint. Kinetic energy of the bullets is selected, which ensures their penetration by 4/5 of the plate thickness. From the front side of the welded joint, dents from bullets are obtained, which cause tensile stresses, and from its back side – bulges from bullets, causing compression stresses on the back side of the welded joint of the plates. Dents received from shots are welded up.
EFFECT: method provides for optimization of the residual stress state of the welded joint, which leads to a decrease in the propensity to crack formation of welded products.
