SUBSTANCE: disclosed method relates to radar measurement and is meant for detecting aircraft trajectory instabilities in form of sailplane yawing. The invention is based on studying the dynamics of the extent of Doppler maps made in successive moments in time. For this purpose, digitised values of quadrature components of reflected signals are put into an data array from which partial quadrature arrays are subsequently extracted to create Doppler maps. Presence of flight trajectory instabilities in form of yawing is indicated by change in the structure of the formed Doppler maps of the aerial object, which is caused by change in angular velocity turning about the radar station during sailplane yawing. The fast Fourier transformation procedure over the partial sampling of reflection characteristics of the object is the method for creating Doppler maps.

EFFECT: high reliability of detecting flight trajectory instabilities of aircraft with small heading angle.
