SUBSTANCE: application: in electrical engineering, to reduce time of formation and recovery of capacitance of closed nickel-cadmium accumulators and accumulator batteries. Concept of the invention is as follows: stated objective is solved by the fact that accumulators are charged with stabilised asymmetric current at the ratio of amplitudes of discharge and charge pulses of 3÷4, at duration of charging pulse of 200÷240 ms and discharge pulse - of 10÷20 ms with pauses between them of 0÷2 ms, with amplitudes of charging pulse, numerically equal to 0.2÷0.8 of rated capacitance, process of charging at the first cycles of formation and recovery of capacitance is terminated when 250÷500% of rated capacitance is imparted to the accumulator, process of charging at subsequent cycles of formation and recovery of cycles is terminated when 120÷250% of rated capacitance is imparted to accumulator.
EFFECT: reduced number of charge-discharge cycles of formation and recovery of capacitance of closed nickel-cadmium accumulators and accumulator batteries.
