METHOD FOR REDUCING THE HEAT RATE COEFFICIENT IN THE NICKEL-CADMIUM BATTERY BY MEANS OF VARIABLE ASYMMETRIC CURRENT Russian patent published in 2018 - IPC H01M10/24 H01M10/48

Abstract RU 2658859 C2

FIELD: electrical engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to the field of electrical engineering and concerns the safe operation of nickel-cadmium batteries in various electrical and electronic systems. According to the invention, during the maintenance process, the battery cycling mode is additionally performed, at which the charge of the battery was conducted by the rectangular asymmetrical current at the ratio of the amplitudes of the discharge and charging currents, equal to 5, and the ratio of the duration times of the discharge and charge pulses, which equals to 0.1, where the average value of the asymmetric alternating charging current is equal to the charging current according to the user manual of the battery, consequently, the amplitude of the charge pulse will be 2.2 times the average current, the duration of the charging pulse is 50 ms, the duration of the discharge pulse is 5 ms, the charging process ceased when the amount of electricity was reported in accordance with the operating instructions for the battery, and the discharge was carried out with the constant current until the thermal acceleration factor became less than 10%.

EFFECT: decrease in the probability of thermal acceleration in the nickel-cadmium battery, prolongation of its service life, improvement of the engine operating reliability is the effect of the invention.
