FIELD: process engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metal forming and may be used in production of ICE pistons from aluminium alloys by rheoforming in female mold. Rheobillet of formed with diametre equal to 0.85-0.95 of female mould diametre. Profile of rheobillet face mates that of the piston and has axial bore. Bore depth is smaller than piston machining allowance. Forming is performed by temperature stabilisation in barrel with inserts that covers rheobillet. After temperature stabilisation, rheobillet is arranged in female mould and piston is rheoformed. To fit rheobillet in female mould, barrel face is closed by shutter, barrel is turned in axial plane through 180 degrees and centred to female mould ID for shutter to be arranged on pusher. Shutter is shifted perpendicular to barrel axis and rheobillet is fitted in place by insert aligned with pusher. Then, pusher is lowered to arranged insert with rheobillet on female mould bottom and barrel with shutter is removed from the working zone. Male mould is shifted downward to rheoform the piston.

EFFECT: higher quality of finished product.
