FIELD: mechanical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of mechanical engineering; it can be used in the manufacture of pistons of internal combustion engines. A dimensional workpiece with a non-resist insert is made by installing the insert into a mold cavity, then pouring an aluminum alloy melt into the mold and crimping it. The crimping is carried out under a pressure of 500 MPa for 60 s until the crystallization process is completed by means of pressing plungers when they move towards each other. The resulting workpiece is cooled with water and its isothermal stamping is carried out in a stamp. The stamp contains a punch corresponding to the rear cavity of the piston of the internal combustion engine. Then, thermal and mechanical processing is carried out.
EFFECT: piston with high operational and low dilatometric properties is obtained.
