FIELD: process engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to ferrous metallurgy, particularly, to continuous steel casting. Tube-type mould outer surface is sprayed by pure soft water and tube outer surface temperature, those of water fed to injectors and water at tube-type mould outlet are measured. Water is fed separately onto tube top and bottom parts. Difference between temperature of tube outer surface and temperature fed to injectors makes 100-250°C at tube top and 70-180°C at tube bottom. Density of spraying tube top outer surface makes 1000-2500 l/min·m2, that at tube bottom makes 400-1500 l/min·m2. Pressure of water fed to injectors makes 8-15 bar at tube top and 2-7 bar at tube bottom.

EFFECT: uniform old tube cooling, reduced water consumption.
