FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: internal combustion engine with spark ignition includes control mechanism of compression degree having the possibility of changing mechanical compression degree, time control mechanism of opening and closing the inlet valve, which has the possibility of changing the closing moments of inlet valve, and outlet valve. During operation of the engine at low loads the control mechanism of compression degree provides control of mechanical compression degree so that it can be maximum to obtain maximum expansion degree, and time control mechanism of opening and closing the inlet valve provides the control of opening moments of inlet valve so that actual compression degree is set so that there is no knock. Maximum expansion degree is 20 or more. During the engine operation at low loads there provided is the situation at which the closing moments of outlet valve correspond to the moments of reaching the upper dead point at the inlet.
EFFECT: owing to such construction the temperature of catalyst converter for cleaning of the exhaust can be maintained at high level.
