FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: in the method, a thermal lens is formed in an analysed solution based on electroconductive liquids using a dielectric diaphragm with holes and two electrodes on both sides of the diaphragm. The novelty lies in that the thermal lens is formed using an electroconductive capillary which is the first electrode mounted in the hole of the diaphragm, wherein the length of the electroconductive capillary whose outer surface is insulated in the solution except on the butt-end is considerably larger than its cross section. The analysed solution is fed through the electroconductive capillary at the outlet of which the second electrode lies. An auxiliary liquid is fed to the point where the thermal lens is formed on the outside of the insulated surface of the capillary, which cools the analysed solution and/or chemically reacts with the analysed solution.
EFFECT: simple process of forming a thermal lens.
