SUBSTANCE: version of implementation of this invention is the procedure of processing of signals in communication system. Channel impulse response (CIR) generator generates CIR characteristic processed with the help of window function and converted into time area from received signal with application of window function. Threshold limiter performs threshold limitation of CIR characteristic treated with the help of window function and converted into time area. Compensator compensates the window effect for CIR characteristic treated with the help of window function, converted into time area and limited with threshold to provide for improved evaluation of channel in frequency area.

EFFECT: improved assessment of channel characteristic.
