MATERIAL AND METHOD OF PRODUCING OZONE DECOMPOSING MATERIAL Russian patent published in 2011 - IPC B01D53/66 B01J23/34 B01J23/72 B01J20/30

Abstract RU 2411984 C2

FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to inorganic chemistry. Disclosed is a method of producing material for decomposing ozone, involving mixing manganese-and copper-containing compounds with high-alumina cement and bentonite clay, moulding granules, holding in air, hydrothermal treatement, drying, calcination, according to which solid particles of basic manganese carbonate and basic copper carbonate crushed to particle size 50-150 mcm are mixed with high-alumina cement and bentonite clay in the following ratio of components, wt %: basic manganese carbonate 13-25, basic copper carbonate 27-50, bentonite clay 1.5-6.5, high-alumina cement - the rest. Hydrothermal treatement is carried out at 70-80°C and calcination is carried out at 410-420°C until formation of an X-ray amorphous fine-crystalline phase of Mn3O4 in the end product, characterised by crystallite size of not more than 5 nm. In the preferred version of the method, ammonium and/or acetic acid compounds can be added. Described also is material obtained using the disclosed method.

EFFECT: invention enables to obtain material with high catalytic activity when working in a layer.
