SUBSTANCE: invention relates to ecology. Proposed material comprises heat-treated mix consisting of lepidocrokite in amount of 40-70 wt % with clay, or its mix with high alumina cement. Material is produced from raw material comprising lepidocrokite, primarily, in water-treatment iron-containing wastes formed at natural water iron-removal stage. Iron-containing raw material is formed with clay or mix of clay with cement, is died and subjected to hydro-thermal treatment and annealed.

EFFECT: production of multifunctional material that features sorption and catalytic activity, higher mechanical strength and low costs.
